We kicked off the weekend by spending time at @bestbuy picking up some computers and tablets for CNY POPs (pediatric oncology patients) so they can continue with their at home learning over the summer! ☀️ Because of YOU and your generosity and support we are able to do this - thank you! 🧡💜 Have a great weekend!

Live racing is BACK! And, OMT16 has TEN charity bibs for our community! 🙌⁣

🧡 There is a small fundraising requirement and all the money raised is in support of pediatric oncology patients.⁣

This weekend, OMT16 Athlete @jamie.oriol completed

This weekend, OMT16 Athlete @jamie.oriol completed a 50k trail race (32 miles) through the mountains in Golden Gate Canyon State Park in Colorado. There was about 7300 ft of elevation gain in total & i she was running for about 7 1/2 hours! Jamie also raised funds for OMT16 and was sporting an OMT16 hat the entire race. 🧡💜⁣

Jack Sheridan, the inspiration behind OMT16, will be attending Baylor Law School this coming fall in Waco, TX! 🥳⁣

Tonight, Jack attended a Zoom meeting with the PCRF (Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation) as he, and other survivors, received scholarship money to help further their education.⁣
⁣
Congratulations, Jack! 🧡👏 While we will miss having you in CNY, we know the impact you will continue to make around the country, in the field of Law, and with OMT16 will be remarkable. We are so proud of you! #AthletesMakingADifference

What we are asking is that you sign up with us, and share this graphic on your social media channels requesting your community and followers “pick a circle” and make a donation on your behalf via Venmo to OMT16.⁣
⁣
Once you have someone who is willing to “take a circle” you can either tag them in the story or in the comments section to thank them. Then, once all your “circles” are accounted for by donors, you will have raised just about $100 for our mission! 💜⁣

A letter from Jack Sheridan, a cancer survivor, and the inspiration behind On My Team16:⁣
⁣
“May 29th, 2014, the day I officially became a cancer survivor.⁣
⁣
In cancer, a person is considered to be a survivor from the time of diagnosis until the end of life. For some time following my diagnosis, I was not sure exactly what being a survivor meant. I thought it was just a physical thing, like getting through treatments and ringing the "cancer-free" bell. The further away I get from my diagnosis and treatments, the more I realize how wrong I was.⁣
⁣
Being a survivor goes way beyond the physical things like chemo and blood transfusions; it even goes beyond my own self. When I hear the word survivor and think about being one, an overwhelming sense of responsibility comes over me. This is the same sense of responsibility that other survivors felt when they visited me the first few days at the hospital. I have an obligation to share my experiences with cancer with those who have also been given a diagnosis.⁣
⁣
However, I have learned that sharing personal experiences of cancer is only one of the numerous ways to help these young kids. When I was diagnosed, the support my family and I received from people who knew nothing about what we were about to go through was just as impactful as the advice I received from my fellow survivors.⁣
⁣
By supporting On My Team16 you are saying that you, too, feel the responsibility to help these young kids and their families during the most challenging time of their lives. And, for that, I say thank you.⁣
⁣
What began as a terrifying and brutal diagnosis has turned into something that has benefitted many young people, and that is in part because of YOU and the support you have shown OMT16 over the last few years. Thank you for being our #AthleteMakingADifference these last 4 years. As we watched you record the last out of your collegiate career on the mound, we realized something. Baseball has given you so much, but you have given back so much more.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We are dedicated to making a difference because of the struggle you endured. We are determined to not allow anyone to give up, because you never once gave up. We are committed to performing until no game is lost to cancer, because you showed us how inspiring winning a battle like this really is, no matter how big of an underdog you are.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Every day, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer. Thank you for being one of those 43 children, because if it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t be able to make a difference, other POPs wouldn’t have the opportunity to be comforted, supported, and cared for by OMT16, others wouldn’t be able to hear your story. And...your story is one worth telling.⁣
⁣
Baseball might be a thing of your past, but the mark you have left will always be one of the future. On My Team16 is honored to be making a difference in the lives of all those battling cancer because of you.⁣⁣
